what's interesting about this places I read the previous reviews in a lot of his seen pretty bad so I kind of went into this place with the expectation of getting messed over or not having the right positive experience like everybody else did so I would say that everything I saw was not as compared to a lot of the other reviewers I thought the prices at this place was pretty decent I thought everything was easy to find as far as types of drinks liquors bottle stuff like that also the people behind the counter were pretty nice from what I gathered in the reviews that everyone was mean I didn't have that type of experience but I did see the signs that after a certain time late in the morning like 1 or 2 in the morning to prices went up a certain percentage so be on the lookout for that if you getting liquor late at night Grade: B
This is a a great local institution that has a wide selection of drinks to choose from and is open late. The staff are friendly and helpful if you treat them with respect. While the prices go up as it gets larger they are still very reasonable especially compared to those at a bar of club. The area nearby is safe as long as you use common sense. The store itself is extremely safe because of the excellent door person/security who actually checks IDs and generally keeps patrons safe & kids from getting themselves into trouble. It is located in a beautiful old Art Deco building You should absolutely come here for all your late night liquor needs.
All the liquor in the world is here...I didn't stand around to count if it is 1000 actual liquors...lol. Im sure its named after the address; 1000 W Belmont. Prices are standard and they do have a guy at the door that checks ID. I guess thats for the kids that reside on the mean streets of Lakeview that have fake IDs I usually stop here if Im going to Blue Havana Cigar Shop or if I am going to a friend's place nearby...its right off of the Belmont L stop.
